BackBlast:

Seven Pax came out this early morning on MLK Day despite some blistering cold temperatures. We were all bundled and disguised as black ninjas. Wind chill had us at a feels like temp of 15 degrees apparently. I have to say, we must have all dressed correctly because no one seemed to be miserable. Either that or the running just kept us unaware of the actual feels like temp!

We started with a DORA warm up. One partner did jumping jacks while the other partner did butt kicks down about 25 yards and high knees back. Once each partner had rolled through that twice, we switched it to jumping jacks and grapevines while we waited on some of our PAX coming in hot! Not naming any names here 🙂

The Thang: We jogged down about 100 yards to our start line. PAX sprint back 100 yards to their mat, complete 10 push ups and 10 big girl sit ups then mosey back around the loop to the start line and rinse and repeat. We repeated 10 times to get 100 sit ups (BINGO BOX!) and 100 push ups. Some of the PAX added in 2 large loops to hit 3 miles for the morning. And I quote, “This is why I love the Union.” (-Chocolate Chip: with a sarcastic tone) But really- how do you end a beatdown at 2.8 miles? You don’t! We circled up real quick for name-o-rama and a prayer and made it to our cars as fast as possible to get heat and seat warmers fired up!

Way to go today ladies! I can’t say I was thrilled to get up this morning when I saw the temperatures last night, but you only regret the workouts you DON’T do. We got it done, we made it happen, and we were certainly better together!
