I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Before we all scattered to celebrate with families near and far, we celebrated together with our annual White Elephant and Christmas convergence. It was such a fun time. Despite the rain, which we prepared for, we got in a full hour workout!
We started with a Would You Rather warm up. If you would rather option 1, you did a star jump, then side shuffled or grapevines right. If you would rather option 2, you did a 180 jump and side shuffled or grapevined left.
-Laugh like Santa or talk like an elf?
-have fruitcake flavored turkey or turkey flavored fruitcake?
-ride in Santa’s sleigh or visit his toy shop?
-have a candy cane house or gingerbread house?
-have ornaments for ears or a carrot for a nose?
-have no presents or no Christmas tree?
-white lights or colored lights?
-hot chocolate or egg nog?
-cook Christmas dinner or do all of the dishes?
-be the grinch for a day or Rudolph for a day?
After we got our laughs out and heart rates up, we did a song challenge to The Grinch. We held chair and when we heard the following, we did the following:
You’re – Around the World
Grinch – Jump Squat
Banana, Garlic, etc. – Backwards Lunge
Then we split into 3 groups and each went to a Christmas Tree pyramid. We set a timer for 15 minutes and completed our pyramids AMRAP style until the timer went off and we rotated. We had a leg, an arm, and an ab pyramid.
1. Legs
10 Jump Squats
Run 1 lap
20 Side Lunges, 20 Pendulums
Run 2 laps
30 Narrow Squats, 30 Sumo Squats, 30 Regular squats
Run 3 laps
40 Deadlifts
Plank until everyone finishes, then start again!
2. Abs
10 Boat Canoes
Run 1 lap
20 flutter kicks, 20 Reverse Crunches
Run 2 laps
30 Bicycles, 30 Penguins, 30 Russian Twists
Run 3 laps
40 LBCs
plank until everyone finishes, then start again.
3. Arms
10 Overhead Press
Run 1 lap
20 Lateral Raises, 20 Front Raises
Run 2 laps
30 Bicep Curls, 30 Tricep Kickbacks, 30 Chicken Wings
Run 3 laps
40 Randys
plank until everyone finishes, then repeat.
It started to rain right as we finished up our third pyramid. We pulled up our mats, grabbed our weights, and took cover under the pavilion, where our coffeteria and gifts waited. We circled up for COT, prayed, did our name-o-Rama, snapped a group picture, then dig into our yummy food and coffee. The weather held out just long enough.
After a bit we drew numbers and started our white elephant game. Everyone remained nice and respectful for a good long time. Then finally, the stealing of gifts began. We had some great gifts this year! We had a great time laughing and chatting with each other. Thank you, ladies, for always making everything with FiA so special and fun!
