So today I tried to bring a new routine to the six PAX that joined me – FIVE songs, SIX exercises, SEVEN reps & EIGHT burpees. Once we warmed up with a few OYO stretches & a quick description of the routine we jumped right into THE THANG:

5 6 7 8 – is a whole workout routine where the the length of 1 song (or round) is our timer (even though we still have to count reps).. we do the 6 exercises, (7 reps each) for the duration of the song. Once the song ends we do 8 Burpees then run a lap.

Song #1 – I’m a Slave (3:24)

Song #2 – Booty Shakin’ Music (4:12)

Song #3 – Money Maker (3:51)

Song #4 – Drop It Low (3:11)

Song #5 – Slow Down (4:10)

6 Exercises were as follows: reps each for the duration of the song

1 Squat Kicks (sets)

2 Front/Side Lateral Raises (sets)

3 Russian Twists (sets)

4 Jump Lunges (sets)

5 Tricep Dips

6 Penguins (sets)

At the end of each song –> Burpees –>RUN a lap

That was a total of 40 Burpees!! Bingo Box CHECK!

*The length of the songs will determine the length of this routine. I would love to do this with 5 min songs next time! 🙂

Since we didn’t do an actual warm up & ended with about 10 min left, we continued with an actual song challenge – Turn Down 4 What – Quick feet for the hook & hip hop high knees throughout AND (by request) Sally! Except this time our Sally was our bootys we had to keep up off the ground with Glute Bridges. When Sally was brought down we couldn’t let it touch the ground (just hover) 😉
