I knew it would be raining and cold and miserable so secretly I was hoping no one would show so I could go back home, curl up on the couch, and sip coffee until the girls got up for school. Sadly, I mean AMAZINGLY 5 other ladies came out and we suffered through my Q together. We warmed up with some arm circles, gorilla swings, and Through the Tunnels IC.
The Thang – I planned an Abs and Arms to save my legs for the half marathon this weekend. With the pavilion ground being mostly wet, we modified the Abs portion to be all standing abs. I planned an Abs round and an Arms round, each with 6 exercises and 20 reps per exercise. This was going to be Bruce Lee like so we would complete each round 6 times. At the end of each round we would take a lap around the bathroom shed and back. PC says she made it to a mile but my watch was not as cooperative, probably because I forgot to start it right away.
Abs – raggedy anns, weighted sided bends left, weighted side bends right, warm hugs, torso twists, sumo side bends. On the 4th time through we took out torso twists and did Hillbillies instead to try to warm legs up just a little bit.
Arms – around the worlds, jello shooters, tricep kickbacks, hammer curls, push ups (we stood up and used the tables to lean against) and overhead press
We only got through 4 total rounds before time was up. We prayed for those of us heading to Savannah for races, for dry weather, and to keep us safe and bring us back next time. Thanks for braving the nasty weather ladies! Love each of you very much!
