The weather was gorgeous today. Sunny and warm with very little humidity. We still got our sweat on though. I went thru the lexicon and realized we had so many exercises that had animal names so decided to do an animal tabata. We warmed up with some stretching and 20 jumping jacks and started with our first song challenge: Baby Shark. We did lots of ab exercises during this song including holding V sit, scissor legs, leg lifts, v ups, bicycles, in & outs, flutter kicks, mountain climbers, v sit arm swipe and Russian twist jazz hands. The song goes really quick so you don’t do any of the exercises for very long.
We then jumped into the tabata of 50 seconds on with 10 seconds rest to get into the next position.
bear squats
chicken wings
crab cakes
narwhals
crunchy frogs
alligator push ups
angry donkey kicks
flamingo bicep curls
monkey humpers
kangaroos
praying mantis
love bugs
We then took a lap either by running or walking and came back to start the next round.
penguins
clamshells
butterfly crunches
dead bugs
sea turtles
gorilla squats
inchworms
froggers
seal jacks
zebras
dying cockroaches
Took another lap and then did our next song challenge of “What did the Fox say”. We did pretzel crunches during the verses and bicycles during the chorus.
We then started over at the top with everyone choosing which exercise from the 2 lists. So everyone had the choice of bear squats or penguins as they were the first item on each list. We made it all the way down the list with everyone doing love bugs at the end as there was one more exercise in the first list. We took one last lap and did some stretching to finish up the time.
I forgot to announce the Aloha 5k/10k tomorrow at Etowah at 7 am for anyone wanting to attend. We circled up, prayed, name o rama, and had some coffeteria time. It was a great start to the day.
