This morning I was reminded of one of the main things that drew me to FiA. I knew someone in F3 who always said that one of the things he loved about F3 was, “Even when you don’t want to do it for yourself, you show up for each other”. As someone who had always worked out alone…I liked that…that idea of having other people that you would want to show up for. So, I joined FiA hoping it would be the same…and it has been…and then some. We show up at all hours for ourselves, but more for each other…to be there together and to push and support each other.
This morning…I knew a few of our regular Windmill runners couldn’t make it…and I honestly figured no one was coming (Fall break and illnesses)…so I did NOT want to get up and go. But… I had miles on my training plan and on the off chance that one of my sisters would be there to get some miles, so I went.
And in comes Falls. One of my favorite new sisters. There for her first Windmill run. There for that blessed morning FiA time that keeps so many of us centered and going.
I didn’t have to run alone. She didn’t have to run alone. We got in a 10k, we got in a lot of talking, and we got to spend one of those mornings where you really get to know more about your sisters and who they are.
I love those mornings. And I love FiA and every single one of my sisters.
As you will always show up for me, I will always show up for you.
