FiA Cherokee launched 3 years ago in October.  We have now had 4 Christmases together.  Our first Christmas, we had a small little white elephant relay.  Wonder Woman brought all of the gifts herself.  The next year, we had an official White Elephant exchange. This year we had an official convergence plus White Elephant exchange.  It is my favorite FiA event.  I start planning the next one before it is even over.  It makes me so incredibly happy to see my FiA sisters come together and celebrate.  I love hearing the laughter during the beatdown.  I love seeing the creativity and love in the gifts.  The humor and banter in the stealing of gifts.  The coffee and food.  I love it so much and I hope you all did too!

We kicked off our event with a Beatdown.  We warmed up with neck rolls, hip circles, gate swings, and exercises in cadence.  Next up was our Christmas Song Routine: Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.  We held a chair.  Every time we heard the following, we did the associated exercise:

Rocking – Burpee

Christmas – Jumping Jack

Merrily – Push Up

Deck the Halls – Hallelujahs

Overall, it wasn’t too many burpees!

Next, we rocked it around the Christmas Trees!  We split up into teams of 5.  Every team had a dice.  They rolled the dice, moved forward that many Christmas Trees, then did the exercises listed on the Tree where they landed.  Kind of like playing a board game.  There were 12 trees spaced out across the park.  We took our weights and ran around the circle moving from tree to tree.  Each tree had 4 exercises on it with reps of 5, 10, 15, 20.  We literally used almost every exercise in the exercon that didn’t require a mat!  I will give you a couple examples:

We continued around the circle the Christmas Trees with our team until 45 after.  Then we moved to our mats for an Ab circuit.  50 seconds on/10 off – 2 times through!

My abs were toast after the first round!  And are definitely sore a day later.

We circled up for our prayer and Name-O-Rama.  We named Renaissance – welcome!!!  And we sang Happy Birthday to Blue Bell.  We are, drank coffee, and the White Elephant began!

The shake weight was back and made a pretty early appearance!  Another favorite was a self care package of all sorts of goodies…including a nice, big cucumber….for your EYES!  There were a lot of laughs and a lot of smiles.
