I recycled this from a rained out beatdown and used it today. It was a conglomeration of a bunch of fun national holidays – National No Bra Day, National M&Ms Day, National Skeptics Day, and others I can no longer recall! We warmed up with some fun facts in True/False format about bras, where true was one exercise and false was something different. Then we started our Short Longer Longest beatdown.
The Thang – Short, Longer, Longest is a timed routine with 30-second, 45-second, and 1 minute interval exercises. We had 10 seconds between the times to get ready. We did 5 rounds and repeated it twice. The rounds included in order by time:
Round 1 – merkins, monkey humpers, Moroccan Night Clubs
Round 2 – boat canoes, bear squats, bicycles
Round 3 -froggers, figure 4 squats, flutter kicks
Round 4 – soldier jacks, sumo squats, skaters
Round 5 – gun show L, gun show R, gorilla squats
When we got through all 5, we ran a lap and came back and repeated it again. After the 2nd time through, we ran another lap and then decided to do the bottom activity I called Girls Can Do Hard Things. Each Pax named an exercise that is hard for them and we then completed reps of those exercises. Some of the choices were burpees, a 1-minute plank, shoulder taps, and russian twists with feet off the ground.
We finished with COT and then headed out to get on with the rest of our day. Always grateful for time with my FiA sisters!
