I was excited to bring some of the FiA Olympics to the Lair this morning. The morning felt great with the slightly cooler temp of 68 degrees. We started off with some arm circles, torso twists, quad pulls, and jump rope before jumping in.
We started the FiA Olympics with the 6 foot challenge. 4 PAX (One was running late and didn’t make this challenge) had 10 seconds to make a circle 6 feet from each other. I brought my tape measure and our ladies know their distance. All were pretty much right at 6 feet with the largest discrepancy being 6 1/2 feet. That’s pretty dang good.
On to the whip cream challenge (which I was able to record in slo mo & it makes it funnier). Each PAX was given a dollap of whip cream on the back of their hand. They then hit that hand with the other hand causing the whip cream to fly into the air (or at least it was supposed to) and they had to catch it in their mouth. Chocolate Chip was the only successful one to get the whip cream in her mouth. Others got it on their face or the ground.
Next up was the bear crawl challenge. I made them do this again later in the beat down since I didn’t record it properly the first time. Chocolate Chip was the winner (both times) and looks/sounds kind of like a spider making her way across. Watch the video with sound.
Our last Olympic challenge for the morning was the plank challenge. Chai made it to 5 minutes and Namaste made it to 6 minutes 4 seconds. Guess that Yoga really helped her out. I was so impressed with those time. Great job to all that participated. I apparently wasn’t prepared and did not have medals to give out like some of my counter parts.
After our Olympics we moved on to 6 minute AMRAP’S. Each round had 3 exercises with different quantity’s that they did over and over until the 6 minutes were up.
10 around the worlds
20 sumo squats
30 chest flys
10 jump squats
20 hammer curls
30 tricep kickbacks
20 walking lunges
30 jumping jacks
We had time for one lap around the parking lot and finished with COT and nameorama.
Congrats to our winners and thank you to all who participated. Until next time, SS.
