BackBlast:

We stretched out top to toe to start with, then moved on to trying out some Karate moves.

First round: 20 sumo squats then while holding a squat 20 high blocks. We then lunged forward with high blocks for 25 steps.

Second Round: 20 sumo squats then while holding a squat 20 middle punches; moving forward with a lunge and middle punch for 25 steps.

Third Round: 20 sumo squats then while holding a squat 20 high block, 20 middle punch combinations; moving forward with a high block and punch, lunge for 25 steps.

Fourth Round: 20 sumo squats then 20 front kicks, 10 on each side; moving forward for 25 with a kick and step forward.

Fifth Round: 20 sumo squats then 20 high block, middle punch, front kick combinations, moving forward for 25 high block, middle punch and front kick land forward.

Between each round we ran a lap back to the beginning and did an ab and arm exercise- class choice.

The second part of the workout was partner work: 2 people faced each other, one kicked toward the solar plexus of their partner who then stepped back out of the way, repeated five times then switched to the other partner kicking…….. back and forth for a minute.

The final part was a wrist grab escape exercise with a knife hand strike and a palm strike to finish off.
