BackBlast:

7 PAX came out to The Grove for an early Saturday beatdown.  We started with what I like to call The Mailbox Mile.  The Grove is a great little neighborhood street in an oval shape, which makes a great running track.  We ran the circle, but stopped at every mailbox for a Star Jump.  There are 13 mailboxes on the street.  When we got back, we held a plank until everyone was back. Then we did it again with a sumo squat at every mailbox.  Then we did it a third time with a Raggedy Ann at each mailbox.  That gave us over half a mile.

Next up was LL School J!  PAX do 2 walking lunges, 1 squat – 10 times.  Then we do 10 broad jumps back.  Then we do 2 walking lunges, 1 squat, 9 times, with 9 broad jumps back.  We keep going all the way to 1.  It is a LOT of jumping!

After that we did Top Gun.  10 Reps, 5 exercises, as many rounds as possible.  But, every minute on the minute, we enter The Danger Zone and do a burpee.  Our exercises were:

Bicep Curls

Overhead Press

Scarecrows

Tricep Kickbacks

Rows

After Top Gun, we wrapped up our final 2 FiA Olympic events.  I had filled up water balloons, they were all ready.  First, we did drop and pop.  It was a close call between the two teams, but we all ended with wet drawers!
Second was Regional Choice.  We opted for the Water Balloon Lob.  We each threw water balloons down the street.  Valor threw it the farthest and won, but we all released some tension tossing those balloons!

We wrapped up with 1 more Mailbox Mile lap – doing a jump squat at each mailbox.  We ran 1-2 more laps until we each got a mile distance.

We circled up, prayed, and rushed out to get to those Saturday kid activities!  It was a fun morning at The Grove!
