It was another warm, rainy Sunday Runday in DECEMBER. I have to admit, after getting up and hearing the rain, I really just wanted to get back in the bed. But when you agree to Q, you have to show up. Without a doubt this is the best thing about FiA. Making a commitment and showing up, even when your brain says “go back to bed!”. Chinchilla was the first on the scene 🙂 and we laughed about having the same get-back-to-bed thought. We laughed about the rain, which was down to a mist, and the 60+ degree temperatures. We agreed to a 3 mile run in the parking lots and off we went. It was an easy run and we talked about kids, Santa and Christmas. Around mile 1.5 we noticed another runner in the High School car rider lanes – GUAC!! She also had the thought of staying in bed but got up and joined us anyway. Late is better than regret – another lesson in FiA. We caught up and ran our last mile and half together. We talked Chinchilla into the Whole 30 and enjoyed our misty run. (Unfortunately I forgot to snag another pic of the 3 of us!)
Today’s rainy run reminded me again why I do it. I love the friendships that are forming, I love the laughter in the mornings, and I love how I feel after I put a few miles on my legs. Thank you ladies for getting up and running in the rain!
