Today was the day after a holiday and the first week of school out so I wasn’t sure how many ladies would join me this morning. I was happy to see 9 other cars coming into the parking lot. We did some stretches with some toy soldiers and through the tunnels in cadence before getting started.
First we did a Paula Abdul by lining up on the parking spaces. Instead of 2 steps forward and 3 steps back (like the song) we ran 2 parking lines forward and one back and then did 10 squats. We did this all the way down the row and ran back to our mats.
We then jumped into the first triple check. We divided into groups of 3 (with one group having 4). One person ran/walked to the end while another did pretzel crunches and the third did Y raises. We kept switching as each person got back from running. All 3 in the group did each section 3 times before moving onto the next triple check.
The second triple check consisted of one person running/walking, one doing in & outs, and the other doing either tricep kickbacks or tricep overhead press. All 3 in the group did each section 3 times before moving on.
We then did another Paula Abdul down to the end of the parking lot with 10 hallelujahs each time we stopped before running back to our mats. We had a few minutes left so we started going down the row calling out ab exercises. We did Russian twists, heel taps, bicycles, and so on until we stopped with 2 minutes left to stretch.
We circled up and prayed for good results from Valkyrie’s scans, my dad’s recovery from surgery, and the families of those lost in the boating accidents the past couple of weekends. Thank you ladies for joining me today.
