BackBlast:

Five PAX showed up on this blustery, wet and in some places icy morning.  I wasn’t sure what to expect when getting up this morning but the weather guys told me the roads were pretty good so we had our beatdown.  Louisiana is normally celebrating Mardi Gras right now but with their winter weather coming thru I don’t think there is a lot of celebrating going on today.  So we celebrated for them even with the wind gusts trying to move our mats for us.  We warmed up with some Michael Phelps, arm circles, quad stretches and some jumping jacks.

I had planned a tabata since I didn’t know how the weather would be so we mostly stayed in place except for a few laps.  It wasn’t our biggest calorie burner since we didn’t move as much but we still burned more than those in their beds still sleeping.

We spelled out some Mardi Gras words (see picture) with 50 seconds on and 10 seconds rest.  We did a lap after each of the first 2 word sets.  We did the last 2 words for time before running one last lap.  I gave a set of beads to everyone who completed the beatdown.  They are wearing them in the picture but you can’t really tell.

We prayed for those traveling this week and anyone traveling today as the temps are still falling and if the wind doesn’t dry the roads then there will be more icy spots.  We prayed for all in the path of the huge winter storm across the country.  We then had name o rama and went our separate ways with a couple of ladies staying to walk/run a little more.
