What happens when you spend 8 hours in the car with your F3 the day before your Q? This Beatdown is what happens! I have to give a shout out to Twiggy of F3 Cherokee for this one. Light post suicides is a cross between Load the Buses, Suicides, and Route 66. 16 wonderful PAX showed up ready to work with this one – including many not pictured above.
We met up in our usual parking lot, then moseyed back behind the school. We stretched while I explained what was about to happen. I got a lot of looks. We did Jumping Jacks in cadence, then we got to work.
The Thang – Light Post Suicides
Start at the first light post and do 10 push ups.
Run to the 2nd light post and do 20 jump squats. Then run back to the first for 10 pushups.
Run to the 3rd light post and do 30 monkey Humpers. Then run back to the first light post and do 10 push ups.
Run to the 4th light post and do 40 squats. Then run back to the first light post for 10 more push ups.
The idea here is long distance suicides. Our light posts are NOT close together. And the course curved around a little culdesac. Some people cut off the culdesac to get more of the exercises in, which is totally fine. This was a lot of running, so I encouraged PAX to modify as needed. So, we continue – for 11 light posts!
Run to the 5th light post and do 50 Raggedy Anns, then back to the first for 10 push ups.
Run to the 6th light post and do 60 Calf Raises, then back to the first for 10 more push ups.
Run to the 7th light posts for 70 Bear Squats, then back to the first for 10 push ups.
Run to the 8th light post for 80 chicken wings, then back to the first for push ups.
Run to the 9th light post for 90 sumo squats, then back to the first for 10 more push ups.
Run to the 10th light post for 100 Hallelujahs, then back to the first.
Finally, run to the 11th light post for 110 Your Choice Reps (Face Mat, perhaps?), then back. You finished!
No one finished all 11 light posts. But a couple of our Super Star runners – Guac, Whole Coconut, Chocolate Chip, and Hallmark – came really close to finishing. I think everyone got at least 2 miles of running/walking in. I am always amazed at FiA Cherokee PAX. They are so strong and such great sports!
Announcements: Join us Saturday for the 9/11 Hero’s Run. Run it, walk it, ruck it, volunteer – come hang with us!
Thank you for another great Beatdown at The Den Ladies! It is wonderful to have Spirit and Wilson back. We have missed you!!
