Sweating to the oldies

We had 11 PAX today! It was a wonderful day to burn off those Easter calories. We all admitted to eating too much so I brought a workout sure to leave them hungry for more! I played some music from the 60’s and 70’s, hence the name sweating to the oldies.

First we did a quick warm up and stretch with arm circles and windmills.

The thang

We did a Tabata style workout with three rounds. After each round we took a small lap just to shake things out. The count was 20 seconds workout, 10 seconds rest.

Round 1

Burpees, Mountain Climbers, Plank – Repeat 2 more times for a total of 9 exercises

Round 2

Squats, Push ups, Flutter kicks – Repeat 2 more times for a total of 9 exercises

Round 3

Lunges, Crunches, Side straddle hops – Repeat 2 more times for a total of 9 exercises

We came back together to do 4 corners. Then cones we set up around the middle sidewalk circle. We did these with weights.

Cone 1 – 15 Dead Lifts then run backwards to cone 2

Cone 2 – 15 Bicep curls then do The Mario (skip and punch the air up) to cone 3

Cone 3 – 15 Shoulder presses then Karaoke to cone 4

Cone 4 – 15 Triceps kick backs then sprint/run back to cone 1

Then we did another round.

We came back together and decided to do some Bag of Abs to finish off the last 10 mins.

We had a great time and were sweating like crazy! We did COT and Name-o-rama and welcomed our new FNG Tomahawk chop because she likes The Braves and likes to cook.
