After giving up our lives in my home town in South Carolina, my family began a new chapter in Georgia in January of 2020. The change and isolation of a new town made worse by a pandemic took a tool on my spirit. Simply by Gods grace, that summer I attended my first beatdown. From day one, FIA has felt like coming home, like a family, a true community. A safe space, a place where it’s ok to not be ok.  A place to laugh, to grow, and to know you matter. While the exercise aspect is what brought me to FIA, the community and love I feel each and every time keep me coming back. Being a part of this community is one of my greatest blessings.
