When the Flock Lands for 5k + Fun

FiA Cherokee you know how to SHOW UP! What started as a crazy idea with cute swag became an awesome event with 42 PAX down at nearby Etowah River Park.  We had a great time hosting a Flock it – Just Run virtual 5k and concluded with a finish line party where we talked a little “business”.

The Thang:

After a quick warmup of arm swings, windmills in cadence, and toy soldiers in cadence, it was time to GO! PAX had the choice to walk, ruck, or run the 5k on a wonderful paved trail system in the park. We went the distance on honor system, and everyone finished with a smile on their face completing 3.1 miles ( or more if you’re in the middle of training for a half!). There were some great accomplishments like first 5k events for some (Sugarland and  Sew Crafty to name a few- great job ladies!) and recovery runs for others (Wonder Woman was just back from THE ULTRA BEAST).

The Party:

FiA knows how to have a good time. Before the food we did a quick headcount and COT plus prayer to express our love and thanks. We did a potluck party for snacks and drinks after the run.  Partly Cloudy and the rest of the Fearless Leaders then led the group to talk about end of year event and social planning, Qs plus backups, FiA-lanthropy, and expansion in our county. There was a lot of great ideas, new volunteers and emerging leaders identified and plenty of laughter to go around. We wrapped with clean up and headed out to prepare for our week!

Thank you ladies for all making this an amazing event. I can’t wait to see what we do next!
